Coolangatta Industrial Area Water Supply Study - Water Corporation
Development of the Coolangatta Industrial Area is part of the State Government’s action plan for economic development of the Collie and Bunbury Regions. WISE was engaged by the Water Corporation to conduct a desk top assessment and advise of the infrastructure required and cost to provide a potable water supply.
Working with the topography constraints of the site, the study evaluated a range of options incorporating a tank, pipe network and local pressure boosters. The Infoworks modelling software was also used to assess the impact of the estimated industrial area demand on the existing potable water system capacity to assess need for any offsite improvements. Control strategies were investigated to minimise drawdown of other existing system tanks and assess impact on existing transfer pumps.
Final option recommendation was made based on estimated cost, development constraints (related to topography and delivered pressure), constructability, approvals required and safety.
